DIY Boho Feather Baby Mobile

If Rayvin and William's baby girl is going to be dozing off looking at the DIY mobile I made with her mama, we had to make sure that it was definitely something that would inspire only the best of dreams.

Rayvin had a bohemian aesthetic in mind for her nursery and that worked perfectly for this dainty, feminine, and dreamy mobile. We added feathers, battery operated fairy lights, and little flowers to bring the prettiness for this baby girl, but you could switch up the color scheme or some of the textural details to make it just right for your little one, regardless of gender.

Prep It:

Embroidery hoop Fairy lights Hot glue gun Scissors Various ribbons Feathers Lace trim Flower trim Twine

Do It!:

  1. Open your embroidery hoop and set aside the outer piece. You'll only be working with the smaller one for this mobile!
  2. Start by cutting various lengths of ribbon and evenly distributing them around the hoop, tying them into place. At the bottoms of these ribbons, use a dot of hot glue to attach a feather.
  3. Repeat step 2 until you are happy with the amount of feathers that are hanging from your mobile.
  4. Attach three even pieces of twine to the interior of the hoop. These will be where you hang the mobile from!
  5. Now it's time to decorate the hoop. Use the hot glue to cover the exterior of the hoop in ribbon. We also covered the exterior of the hoop with an intricate white lace trim.
  6. Don't forget the interior of the hoop, too! We decorated ours with a floral trim, with little pink roses perfect for the baby girl the mobile is for.
  7. When you're done decorating your hoop, wrap it in fairy lights. We covered the battery pack of the lights with a little bit of floral trim so it blended in well with the interior of the mobile.
  8. When you're ready to hang the mobile, tie up the twine to adjust the height of the mobile, and hang from a screw hook.
