DIY Butcher Block Kitchen Island

A kitchen island is typically thought of as big — big expense, big use of space, big investment. But hear me out! If you have the space, you can easily (and moderately inexpensively) create a kitchen island for your home in less than three steps! This DIY has a midcentury modern appeal, with a open bottom that allows you to store stools or chairs when they're not in use!

Do It!:

  1. Flip your butcher block over, so the top is facing the ground.
  2. Position your hairpin legs on each corner of the block and screw into place.
  3. Stand your table upright, make sure it is even and not wobbly, and enjoy!
