DIY scrap leather vest

MrKate_DIY_LeatherVest-18text

Festival season is upon us! I love having vests in my wardrobe to add layers to an outfit without the personal climate change of a jacket (sleeves). This DIY Scrap Leather Vest embodies that bohemian spirit and pairs perfectly over spring/summer shorts, skirts and flowy dresses. We embraced the "scrap" look of the edges to achieve an asymmetrical hemline.

Do It!:

  1. Layout the scrap leather and existing your vest over top. Trace the armholes with your fabric chalk. (TIP: If you don't have a vest to use as a template, use your measuring tape to measure the distance from shoulder to shoulder and draw your own armholes, shoulder distance apart.)
  2. Cut out the armholes.
  3. Put your new vest on and alter the armholes if needed. Style your new vest with any of your favorite spring/summer ensembles!
