I hope you all got to see the new Fall Mr. Kate jewelry collection which we released yesterday…click on over here to see the look book. As with any collection release and photo shoot, there are lots of moving pieces and details to attend to, before it's ready to show you all. Here are some behind-the-scenes photos from the day that we shot the look book and from our new office space, where we shot some of my commentary on the collection and show some work process. Watch the video below...PS, the office space is so cool and raw and we just moved in and haven't had time to decorate yet beyond laying down a couple rugs…but I will soon! So stay tuned for those pics too!
Prior to the look book shoot we gather inspiration for the vibe of the shoot, styling, hair, make-up etc. Then we cast a model, pull and/or buy clothes and figure out what looks go with what jewelry pieces. For this shoot I wanted to do 90's grunge meets bohemian for laid-back but bad ass, autumn-inspired looks. We cast Allie Crandell, a gorgeous model who's personality is as amazing as her cheekbones. She totally embodied the vibe and along with Christina Guerra doing hair and make-up and Kat Borchart shooting the photos, it was a perfect storm of style!
We shot in and near a house in Laurel Canyon (that actually belongs to Joni Mitchell…but more on that later). The weather was perfect and the shots turned out so well!
