it's okay to mix stripes and florals!...well at least according to me....who am i, you ask? well, not really anyone of real authority, but i do know what i like, and today it happened to be shades of blue in different patterns.

i feel like the general rule when mixing patterns, (the same goes for interior design - a good example is my mom's apartment that i decorated here), is finding a common theme, whether it be a color or style of pattern. for example here it's both: the fact that the shorts' floral pattern is blue based and a petite pattern (small-scale flowers), it then works well with the large scale stripes of the shirt, also in blue... the blue boots were then just because i couldn't help myself...aren't they cool? they're summer boots with the canvas and cut-outs to breath!

for interior design: pick you inspiration color pallet and then find fabrics in different patterns that incorporate the same color scheme and voila, it will look intentional and fab... trust.
