DIY colorful thrift store lamps

i love my new row of happy desk lamps! i've been meaning to spruce up the office room that i share with Joey at our office space. it's over-due and still a work in progress because we're painting the walls with dry erase paint - more on that later! but the giant table that we share as a partner desk, needed some TLC and these colorful spray painted, thrift store lamps were just what the doctor ordered.

a row of spray painted lamps is a really easy and cheap DIY to bring in color and decor elements to any space. you could do this in a bedroom on a dresser or behind a couch on a consul table, the options are endless...and the color options are endless! the lamp bases were super cheap from the Goodwill. i plugged them all into one power strip and then the power strip into a dimmer so i can turn all the lamps on with just one switch! Prep It:

• various lamps - i got mine from the Goodwill for $4 to $9
• spray paint in the color(s) of your choice
• white spray paint primer (if you're painting light or bright colors over darker lamps)
• lamp shades - i got one from the Goodwill and 3 from Kmart
• eco-friendly light bulbs
• power strip with enough plugs for all your lamps
• lamp dimmer

DO IT!:

1. if a light or bright color is desired, spray your lamp bases with white primer and let dry.
2. spray your lamp bases with one or more coats of your colorful spray paint and let dry.
3. screw in your bulbs and attach your lampshades
4. plug all your lamps into the power strip and then plug the power strip into your lamp dimmer.
5. line your lamps up on your desk or wherever you want them.
6. plug your lamp dimmer into the wall and flick the switch to on and voila!
