DIY graffiti #shirt

Posted by MrKate on

Don't tag a wall, tag a shirt! Get inspired by street artists and wear your own graffiti with some fabric spray and an old piece of clothing that needs some sprucing! Use a # (hashtag) for a fun commentary on the new kind of tagging. #SHARE this video with and hashtag #mrkate! #ThankYou #CommentBelow

We pulled inspiration from shirts such as the one I wore in the 1BEF OOTD and the back of this shirt I wore in an OOTD has a cool stencil as well. This project is super easy and really fun to #customize with whatever you want to express about yourself, your style or your sense of humor! For more DIYs using t-shirts check out the upcycled t-shirt scarf, DIY floral print,

Prep It:
  • paper - card stock works best
  • scissors
  • tape
  • fabric spray paint (we used Simply Spray - from Jo-Ann Fabrics)
  • t-shirt or whatever piece of clothing you want to upcycle and tag!
DO IT!:
  1. cut out letters to use as your stencil
  2. using double sided tape (or tape folded over so it's sticky on both sides), tape the letters in your desired place on the t shirt
  3. shake up the fabric spray paint and evenly spray back and forth over the letters
  4. after 30 minutes, the paint should be dry and you can start to peel off the letters
  5. #tada! you're now ready to rock your shirtingly-chic #clothing #art!
