thrift store find: moroccan tea set

Joey recently found these Moroccan tea glasses at the Salvation Army and I'm excited to use these in our new house! Moroccan tea glasses can come in all types of clear glass, stained glass, painted glass, or mixed metals. The one we have has engraved glass and little metal stands attached to handles. Tea is considered an important art form in Morocco and their tea of choice is Maghrebi Mint tea. I've taken a couple pictures of our tea set and included some other beautiful ones from the interwebs. It's obvious by the beauty and detail in these sets that Morocco really does take their Tea very seriously.

Here are some of my Mr. Kate Gems that will enable you to get the Moroccan tea set look!

  1. Pier 1 sells this colorful Moroccan glass set for $34.95 - I love the mix of colors with the metallic gold.
  2. Ebay has a wide variety of Moroccan tea sets - this one is actually an Arabic Bedouin set and I love the unique black color with carved details for $58.00
  3. Lamps Plus has this silver tray for $79.99 that is just begging for a Moroccan tea set to sit on top of it, don't you think? The handles make it easier to serve your tea!
