granny's black bean hummus

Posted by MrKate on

just got back to LA yesterday evening and hitting the ground running - so much to do! while in NYC i stayed at my Grandma's apartment. she's one of the best and most effortless cooks i know. she made this black bean hummus which was so delicious - we ate some on the plane yesterday too! make a big batch and keep it in the fridge for a week or easy meals and snacks - use it in a wrap like this too!

What You Need:

  • 2 cans of black beans - drained
  • half a cup of tahini - roasted sesame paste
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • optional: sea salt (sometimes the tahini and beans are salty enough)

Do It:

  1. put all of the ingredients in a food processor or blender, blend to a nice smooth consistency and serve with slices of red pepper for dipping.
