...to Vietnam!!!

it has been in the works for a couple weeks, but wasn't finalized so i haven't blippity blopped about it yet. but now i am and yaaaaay, i'm so excited! i'm going with Joey, who has a show there for MTV Exit (a great organization that works to raise money and awareness about human trafficking, which is rampant and horrific in Southeast Asia. The Click Five has done shows for MTV Exit before, i wrote about some of Joey's previous experiences with them in this post).

we (me, Joey and his band-mates and some of their gfs) are going early and flying straight to Phu Quoc, which is a gorgeous island with turquoise water and we are staying in a hut on the beach! we are going to enjoy the island life for a few days and then fly to Ho Chi Minh for the MTV Exit show. i am hoping it will be an educational, exciting, relaxing inspiring, enlightening and overall amazing adventure. if any of you have been to Vietnam or have any travel tips, please let me know!

right now watching Afghan Star - The Documentary about Afghanistan's American Idol-type show. it's really intriguing to see how much the country changed since the 80's and how oppressive the Taliban has been on their artistic instincts. the country seems to be craving a loosening of the laws but they were still shocked and angered by one of the female singers who danced and let her headscarf slip off during a performance. check it out, it's on demand.

wacky wedgie-picking vietnamese travel outfit (that i probably won't wear on the 16 hour travel day): f21 dress, diy leather stud strap as belt, Sonia Rykiel for H&M patent black platforms, vintage hat and suitcase, melrose bought red ruffle butt short undies.
