juicehead

i'm in love with a juiceman, not a Snooki kind of juicehead but one with blades that makes yummy juice from raw fruit and veggies. i have been obsessed with Pressed Juicery (which is amazing) but it was time to curb my expensive juice habit (hey, at least it's not drugs) and get my own juicer! i got the Juiceman JM400 Juiceman Jr. 2-Speed Electric Juicer off of Amazon and it's been pretty great thus far. it's listed for a good discounted price at $54.99 (normally $99.99).

fresh juice is so good for you! the major plus of making your own fresh juice over store-bought is it's not pasteurized! almost all of the juice you buy in the market is pasteurized/flash pasteurized which is the process of heating the juice to a very high temperature for a short period of time to kill off any molds or unwanted bacteria that might be in the juice. but the problem is that it also kills all the beautiful and healthy raw enzymes, vitamins and minerals! just think of it this way, you don't heat your apple up before you eat it! drinking pasturized juice is basically like drinking vegetable broth...sorta. fresh juice is sooo the way to go. just today i got a bag of fresh apples from the farmer's market (photo above) and made joey and i some apple ginger juice for dessert...mmmm!

get a juicer and you will feel great! i'm trying to start off every morning with a glass of fresh juice....my favorite combos are: - apple and ginger - kale, celery, carrot, apple, ginger and lemon - romaine, kale, carrot and orange - carrot and apple
