it's been so hot in LA these last two days and one of my favorite hot weather alcoholic beverages to imbibe is a wine spritzer! my italian grandmother used to serve wine spritzers to me all the time growing up so i have a fizzy spot in my heart for them. it's actually how the young kids in italy drink wine with meals - they start young.
wine spritzers are perfect for warm weather because you make them fizzy, cool and refreshing with a dash of sparkling water. it also means you can still drink red wine (my preference) as a warm weather drink in a cooled down way!
need: 1. red or white wine 2. chilled sparkling water **3. make it more fruity with a little fruit juice like apple or peach
do it: - pour 2/3 wine and 1/3 sparkling water in a glass (amend the ratio if you want more bubbles) and add some fruit juice for a more dessert-y yum!
