A few years ago I sung praise for William Morris when I made my DIY Art From Nature inspired by his Victorian wallpaper patterns. Now, a few years later, I get to use a William Morris wallpaper in a real life house!!! Tyler and I were totally in sync on the decision to use the William Morris Strawberry Thief wallpaper in his home office. I am obsesssssed with how this room looks! And how about that DIY framed whiteboard!?!?
Tyler is a screenwriter and wanted an elegant and energetic space to work every day and I'm sure he is bound to create magical screenplays in his new study. We also gave him a second small desk and chair for his writing partner Dash to use on the days that they write together.

DIY Framed Whiteboard
Prep It:
Do It!:
- Measure the outside perimeter of your white board or canvas.
- Cut one end of each of the four pieces of wood at a 45 degree angle. To do this clamp your wood to your miter box and saw along the 45 degree angle notch.
- Measure from the innermost (short side) of your 45 degree angle cut to match the length of your white board or canvas. This will be the point from which to make your next 45 degree cut. (Refer to the diagram below.)
- Once all four pieces are cut, it’s time to attach them! Add wood glue to the sides of the 45 degree angles and push them together. Using a staple gun, staple the pieces together to reinforce the connection. Clamp the corners together until glue is dry for a really secure hold.
- Hang your new custom frame around your whiteboard!
