On June 16, 2015, I gave birth. Not in the hospital, epidural, getting a newborn baby at the end of it kind of a way. More in the creative, career-goal-met sense but also a very personal project. On June 16, 2015, A Hot Glue Gun Mess came into the world and I was scared and excited.
This past year has been brought all the wildness, wonder, and awe that being a newly published author entails. Between signings, readings, and hearing what the book has meant to countless people worldwide, A Hot Glue Gun Mess has brought me no shortage of joy in these past 12 months. Also no shortage of Instagrams. That's one way new authors are like new parents — we can't stop posting pictures of our progeny.
I can't wait to see what will happen for A Hot Glue Gun Mess in its second year, but first, let's take a walk down a rhinestone embellished memory lane through some of the highlights of its first year, and a few of my favorite projects.
Like all good debutantes, A Hot Glue Gun Mess had a pink and sparkly launch party at Space 15 Twenty in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Times reviewed the book and interviewed me for its release! They only had nice things to say, which was awesome, like compare my writing to Nora Ephron's (swoooon!).
