Beach Vacation / Spring Break OOTDs

Unless you're a teacher, after college graduation, you don't get a spring break anymore. But, in its stead, life offers a great opportunity to those who work hard to take a well-earned vacation on your own schedule.

So, after reaching our #mrkate1million goal (yay!!), Joey and I took a celebratory spin on the big island on the Kona Coast in Hawaii for a week. Resplendent sun, statuesque palms, and more golden sand than you could imagine became our surroundings for a week, and I was just as excited to soak in these elements as I was to incorporate the island aesthetic into my vacation wear!

Take a peek through my Hawaii snaps below, and check out the details for each look for your own spring/ summer/ whenever vacation packing list inspiration, and scope my Instagram for more sights from the island!

The island is so bright and beautiful itself that I opted to keep it simple in a black one piece bathing suit with a deep V and figure-loving waistband (seriously, who wouldn't this look good on?!) A leopard cap and some rose gold reflective sunnies gave my vintage-inspired bathing suit a cheeky, modern twist. The perfect look for some beachside lounging!

Even though I live in the almost-always-summery climate of Los Angeles, I still think of espadrilles as a seasonal shoe choice. It was great to break these nautical, striped ones out a few months early and take them for a walk along the coral-adorned beaches!

I wasn't surfing while wearing this look, but I might as well have been with these sea blue waves!! A bandana is a great option to keep frizzier hair textures at bay in a humid climate (check out more of my fave vacation hair styles here!), and with a fresh flower and some pink-toned shades, I'm looking at life through rose colored glasses literally!

For a nighttime look, I paired a goddess-esque maxi dress with a braided updo, some bold red lips, and gladiator sandals! There's nothing better than feeling great, comfortable, and free to run around the beautiful greenery like a nymph!

P.S. See a daytime OOTD with this same dress!

Vacation is all about relaxation, and there is no better place to get some zen and some calm than the spa! If you're not on a vacation or able to visit a guest-pampering spa yourself, you can do a lot of treatments at home — just make sure you have the cute robe and glittery cell phone case so the selfie comes out flawless!

By the end of our trip, the colors and vibrant vibes of Hawaii had gotten to me so much that I was dressing like a bright hibiscus flower myself! (Or like a tropical cocktail ... your choice!) Wrapping my hair up in a scarf, much like I did while in Cuba, was not only better for these newly-bleached locks, but I got to sneak in another accessory!
