Winter has a reputation for its "sweater weather," and while I'm always a fan of a big comfy, cushy sweater, I also think these months can be a fun time to challenge yourself to get creative with your style. Layering is a key strategy of mine, and really, coats are just as warm and cozy as sweaters!
I've compiled my OOTD moments from January and February thus far (all sourced from my Instagram, @mrkatedotcom!), with shoppable links for the pieces and similar items for each look! P.S. Get my baby pink kicks here!
With lace, leopard, and pink booties, this look is all about ladylike layering. The tights and coat make it wintertime-appropriate, yet can be taken away to keep the same vibe for spring or summer!

I'm taming my wild side — sheer shirts and leopard skirts — with stacked pearls and an army green jacket that keeps this outfit in the daytime territory. Without the coat it would be great for a night out!

Black and white is more than alright when you have statement boots and a bright red lip to bring a one, two punch of personality to the OOTD! Sometimes a look is all in the accessories, like here.

When each piece of your outfit — in my case a crushed velvet dress, mixed metallic boots, and a vintage graphic purse — are bold in their own right, you can leave the silhouette on the simpler side so they all have room to shine!

Yellow and green can work together! Mustard and camo can both qualify as neutrals, so pairing them together in this street-style-inspired OOTD was more collaborative than clashing.

Forget about stars and stripes, this outfit is all about stars and spots! Since the green jacket and gray beanie are more understated, they balance out the mix of bold prints on the bottom half of this look.

All black outfits can still be energized and fun with a mix of textures and shapes! The pom-pom adorned beanie brings some cuteness and levity, while the faux fur-lined motorcycle jacket adds edge. No boring black here!

Oh look, my pre-platinum hair!! This look was all about playing with lengths and proportions of layers, and realizing that sometimes bigger — bigger hat, bigger cardigan, bigger flare on your jeans — is best!

Sometimes, fashion should just be fun. These clear glasses add a touch of humor and whimsy to a buttoned-up look!

If you haven't realized by now, I kind of have a thing for leopard! Paired with maroon skinny jeans and patent nude booties, the animal print brings a touch of urban jungle to this outfit!

A little bit pretty, a little bit punk. The best things in life are full of juxtaposition, and that includes this feminine but fierce outfit!
