DIWhyNot 4th of July Party!

You guys know I love to do a twist on things, so for this 4th of July I created a party-scape using red, white and blue with no American flags present. I used the patriotic color palette of the flag but played with hues of red, white and blue to give it a vintage/bohemian/nautical spin. Watch the video above for the steps for all the DIYs and see below for more! Have fun this 4th of July because...#whynot!

Do It!:

  1. Prep your rope pieces by tying them up where you want them to hang and then cut the ends to size. TIP: I put tape around the ends of the rope so that when I cut my rope pieces they didn't fray.
  2. Blow up and tie the balloons and attach each one to the rope with a piece of twine. I chose to group the colors together but you could alternate or do whatever you want!
  3. Tie your streamers up to your overhang and enjoy!

Do It!:

  1. Cut a potato in half.
  2. Cut a star shape into one of your potato halves using a small knife.
  3. Squirt or mix your paint on the paper plate.
  4. Dip the potato into the paint. TIP: You may want to practice some stamps on a paper plate before you do your glass plates.
  5. Stamp the plates. I chose to do a single star in the center of each plate but get creative!
  6. Follow the instructions on your glass paint tube to properly cure the paint (usually in the oven) before your party.
  7. Arrange with other mis-matched, red white and blue plates on your table!
