The 5th and final DIY backpack in our DIY backpack series is the Lace Backpack! I love the simple femininity of this DIY and you can add lace trim like this to your: denim shorts, your shirt sleeves/collar or a purse, etc.! I know I usually do no-sew DIYs but in this one, I thought it was best to stitch the lace onto the front pocket to make sure it stays put during your hard studying days…you can use fabric glue, like I did on the lace trimmed jean shorts, if you're a total non sewer but just a few simple stitches should hold this lace in place!

Prep It:
- backpack
- lace trim - from the fabric store
- needle
- thread that matches the lace
- scissors
- seam ripper - optional to remove original backpack label
DO IT!:
- use the seam ripper to remove the original label from the backpack - I used a black Jansport and I thought it looked way better without the original label…more chic!
- lay the lace across the front pocket and cut it to size - make sure it's long enough to cover the whole front pocket when it's stuffed full of stuff!
- use a needle and tread and sew the lace onto the front pocket. Do small stitches along the top and bottom of the trim and a few in the middle to hold it in place. Open the zipper of the front pocket for easy access when sewing.
