Yes, I'm wearing shapewear…Spanx for asking!

So, let's just analyze this for a second, let's scratch our Freudian beards and talk about a thing called shape wear that women wear under their clothes (or totally showing in the case of my leggings in this post) to cinch and flatten and "shape" their bodies. On the one hand, I'm always skeptical of things that make women feel like they have to fit into a mold and alter their bodies to be acceptable and on the other hand, I'm very into people feeling great about themselves. I personally like feeling fit, not too skinny, but toned and healthy and sometimes, in certain outfits, or on ahem, bloated days, I don't feel that way and want something to help me feel like an Olympian…okay, I'm never going to be as toned as an Olympian, nor can I high jump to save my life, but I won't say no to a pair of leggings that flatten my belly to fool me into thinking I have totally toned abs for the day or to a body suite I can wear under a body-con dress and feel…dare I say it, sexy! We women have curves and I think shape wear is at its best when you honor your body shape and accentuate it to make you feel amazing.

Speaking of feeling amazing and talking toning shape wear, I'm hosting an event for Spanx this Saturday, August 24th at Macy's in South Coast Plaza Mall to debut Star Power by Spanx! There will be all kinds of shape wear to see, including the two I'm wearing in this post, plus, get there early and snag a swag bag. I'll be there from 2pm to 4pm, styling looks on models with the new Star Power line and meeting YOU! Please come and we can admire each other's toned booties!

I hope to see you this Saturday! Comment with any questions! Spanx a lot!
