Mirror, mirror, leaning against the wall ... you do know that you're the fairest of them all, right?
Aside from their obvious (and very helpful!) function, mirrors add a decorative depth to a room that I, as an interior designer, find irresistible. The effect of a large, ornate vintage mirror is Pinterest perfect for a boho glam room like this one, but those mirrors themselves can be tricky to track down at a reasonable price! With this DIY, any full length you find can be transformed into the most majestic mirror in just a few steps! Check it out!
Prep It:
Full length mirror Millwork pieces Gold paint Paintbrush E6000 glue
Do It!:
- Paint your millwork pieces and the frame of your mirror gold. You can use gold paint and a paintbrush, as referenced above in the Prep It section, or, for a more even finish, some spray paint.
- When all of the painted pieces are dry, glue your millwork around the frame with the E6000 glue. Feel inspired to glue some pieces onto the mirror itself, like I did here! As long as it looks decorative and beautiful, and doesn't obstruct your mirror's function, it's all fair game.
- Let the glue dry, then prop or hang your mirror up and enjoy its gilded beauty!
