doohickey

Posted by MrKate on

i made a DIY feather beaded clip-in hair doohickey! last weekend at the Graffiti Beach show, there were some people selling these and instead of buying one (even though i do like to support crafters!) i thought DIY yopportunity! so joey and i had craft night tonight and i hopped to it.

i took one of those mini butterfly clips, my hot glue gun, random leather and hemp cords and some packages of feathers i bought years ago at Michael's (i'm kind of a hoarder when it comes to craft supplies), i also used some beads, jewelry wire and a piece of chain to add some weirdness and sparkle... it kind of turned out to look like the favorite accessory belonging to a Native American Indian drag queen...woot woot!

it's a very easy thing to make and put in your hair to spruce up a crazy hair day or a jeans and tee outfit. i just glued 2 pieces of leather and 1 piece of hemp onto the clip and the feathers onto the strands. total cost $0 (i already had all the materials), total time around 15 mins..... P.S. i'm watching SNL right now and Kristin Wiig is the funniest woman currently on this planet, i love her!

paper-bag chic: robert rodriguez pants (they remind me of something Diane Keaton would wear in Annie Hall), shelly (cheap melrose ave. shirt), h&m platforms, diy hair clip, all Mr. Kate jewelry
