grasie and damien

Grasie Mercedes and Damien Fahey contacted me recently to help them re-decorate their great Hollywood Hills pad. they had moved from NYC with some big chunky dark wood furniture and a beige couch and wanted to bring in a lighter more island-meets-antique vibe while staying on a budget. i helped them assess what furniture they could paint, what to sell and what to buy. then we came up with a color palette inspired by the urban outfitter's curtains which now frame all of their giant living room windows.

after...

in the living room/dining/kitchen area we brought in color and an airy feel with: white painted furniture, colorful curtains backed by neutral sheers, a textured island-y rug (bought on clearance) and splashes of the accent colors around the room in budget-friendly throw pillows, art and accessories. we brought in some antique flair with a stack of vintage suitcases which Grasie and Damien found at the flea market.

this is their view and outdoor space which is off of the kitchen. you can't really beat that view! we rearranged the patio furniture to create an area that was more inviting to summer dinner parties.

in the guest room/office we brought in color with muted blue walls, art and accessories. how about that green chair! they got a larger desk and invested in an armoire for Damien's clothes to replace the cluttered clothing rack which was previously there.

in the master we stayed muted and peaceful but brought in texture and pattern with some snazzy curtains and one blue wall. we cleared clutter off of the surfaces with some cute boxes to house jewelry and make-up.

in their downstairs garage space, we created a cozy drum corner for Damien's sweet drum set! we brought in a more homey vibe with a throw rug and album art on the walls.

all in all this was such a fun and successful project! Grasie and Damien were great clients and Grasie is a shopping/organizing machine! check out Grasie's post on the transformation here.
