I'm thrilled to share this interior design project with you because I just looove the way it all came together! This gorgeous, 1920's Hollywood Hills home belongs to my friends and clients Bret Harrison and Lauren Zelman. They're a hott and talented couple who just needed a little help putting the finishing touches on the home that they bought together. The challenge was blending Lauren's love for feminine design (think dried roses and shabby chic-esque items) which is gorgeous but Bret wasn't too into the idea of their house looking "girly." So the solution was to combine masculine and feminine design elements to create an eclectic look that both Lauren and Bret love! We went with a beautiful blue paint on the walls to contrast with the trim and highlight the architectural details of the room, fireplace, molding, etc. Lauren loves rose colors so with the addition of blue it makes for a good masculine/feminine balance with the throw pillows. The rug is one of my favorite elements, it's a super soft, Moroccan shag rug that we ordered here and makes the room cozy but still elegant with the diamond pattern. The tufted leather ottoman from here, is the perfect compliment to their giant L-shaped couch and brings in the chocolate brown from the rug.
The foil art is 1960's French etched foil that I got at the flea market.
This cube bookshelf is an amazing architectural element on an entire wall in the living room. We painted the back of the cubes blue to create even more depth and make the decor stand out. The bookshelf wasn't completely functional for Bret and Lauren before so by cutting out some of the cubes in the center to create a bigger square, we created an area for a mirror and counter for their keys, etc.
We reupholstered the chairs with a mix of burlap and vintage-y polka-dot fabric...I love them!
I mean, how cool is this?! An entire dining room painted with chalkboard paint! It was a very bold move but I knew it would look so much more elegant if we painted all of the walls instead of just one. The contrast of the dark charcoal walls with the rustic table, from Restoration Hardware and glittery chandelier is just perfect, eclectic glamor!

Love this DIY solution: using a $1 frame from the Goodwill that didn't come with a matte, I added fabric swatches behind the photo to create a custom and funky matte!
With just some simple touches from the thrift store and flea market, the guest bathroom is transformed into a decorated parlor room! PS, that lamp is from the Goodwill.
The sunroom is gorgeous. I just love the black and white checkerboard floors and all the sunlight that streams in - I want to dress in a 1920's dress and sip a cocktail in this room!
Remember this birdcage planter from the Think Beyond the Birdcage and Hard to Kill Houseplants posts? This birdcage I got at the flea market and with some hanging and potted Hard to Kill Houseplants it's transformed into an artistic, indoor planter!
The couch is from Pottery barn and I love the contrast with the metal cage chairs - again, masculine and feminine in balance!
This bar was also from the flea market. It's the perfect size for this room and with the iron frame, feels light and airy to compliment the birdcage near-by.
