Minimalist and negative space nails have been all the rage lately. It's such a beautiful trend I was inspired to dress up my walls similarly with this DIY minimalist art! I took inspiration from the matte on shiny and simple shapes seen in many of the manicures and did a Twist on a Trend by interpreting it in interior decor!

Do It!:

  1. Paint the canvas with your base color paint (in our case it was a matte purple) until it is completely covered and let dry. Repeat with a second coat to make sure the base coat has good coverage and then let dry completely.
  2. Tape off a shape to paint your second color - we chose to do a square in the bottom middle (using a glossy paint) but you could do a triangle, side of the canvas, etc. - get inspired by the nail art!
  3. Paint the taped off section with your second color and let dry. Repeat with a second coat if needed.
  4. Remove tape and enjoy!
