mr. kate quickie: styling proportions

Posted by MrKate on

i'm petite! and proud of it! this is not about making yourself look taller, it's about balance and considering proportions when you're styling yourself for the day...

these are two outfits where i'm wearing flats. in both outfits i styled myself with high-waisted shorts and shirts that were either shorter or tucked in. you could achieve the same thing without bare legs and shorts, wear skinny jeans or tights under your shorts or skirt.

these three outfits show tops that are longer and extend my torso. i balanced this out by wearing high wedge or platform shoes. you can do this with jeans, shorts or skirts.

i always think it's good to think proportionally when you're styling yourself, no matter what height you are. you can play with extremes as well by wearing long pants, like a flared jean or wide-legged 'paper bag waist' pant, with platforms and a shorter shirt to make for super long legs!...

let me know if you have any questions!
