travel diary: postcards from florida

Posted by MrKate on

What can I say… I'm a humper!

This past week Joey and I went to Florida to see his family. It was a humid time with lots of rain (my curly hair loved it) and we got to see his 3 adorable nephews (and meet the newest one). Family time is important, especially hanging with kids - I love how everything seems more magical when you see things from their vantage point… they're like little spiritual teachers! Here are some visual post card highlights from our trip. PS, you can keep up with my random goings-on via my Instagram, please follow me and consider this an advanced warning about cute cat tongue photos!

Joey and Jonah (age 4) in the pool

We watched an epic fireworks display on July 4th, my favorite were the all white light ones that twinkled like raining diamonds!

Jonah did my hair

The view from the roof of the Lani Kai in Ft. Meyers Beach: palm trees, lime green, mint green and drunk people.

My motley crew viewing the view from the Lani Kai...and yup, those are gliding deck chairs.

I put Jonah in my faux dork glasses and told him to pose for a school photo…isn't he the cutest!?

Music legends painted on a plywood wall. I wore my Isabele Marant sandals a ton, more deets on them in my essential summer sandals post.

The newest, adorbs member of the family, baby Carter (1 month)

The Mr. Kate scarf I paired with sandals and a hat…and nothing else…jk!

Flying Jonah

Latenight humidity curls, crochet and tattoo!

More palm trees and drunk people

Baby Jordan (1 year) playing in the warm rain. Look at that red hair!

The Mr. Kate Sea Nymph tank spotted on a boat…Bud Light Lime not included.

Tiny person, shallow end

Joey taking one for the team

Sparklers aka magic wand

We're on a boat with DIY Pearl Sunglasses

More exploding diamonds!

And, I'm spent!

What did you do for July 4th?
