roundup: favorite red lipsticks

Happy 4th of July! What better way to celebrate than with red lipstick? I love red lipstick! Nothing perks up a dull beauty day like a scarlet pout. Red lipstick is my go-to when I want to just throw my hair up in a messy bun and wear a simple outfit - or if I'm feeling like my skin is over-all lack luster. Through trial and error, I have discovered my 3 favorite red lipsticks and I want to share them with you! They are all different shades of red and range from creamy to matte to stay-put velveteen.

My favorite red lipsticks:

  1. MAC "Ruby Woo" - a matte finish, classic red that lasts for hours and makes you feel like a 1950's starlet.
  2. Lime Crime Velvetine in "Suedeberry" - an all vegan orangy-red gloss that dries matte and stays put all day. Also try their "Red Velvet" Velvetine too which is a deeper, more classic red.
  3. Rimmel London's Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in color "01" - more of a deep, brick red that goes on super creamy and keeps your lips moisturized.

MAC's Ruby Woo has been one of my favorite red lipsticks for a while. I love the matte finish and the shade is very classic and looks good on a lot of skin tones. The matte finish means it stays put for a while but you'll have to moisturize your lips after removal.

Lime Crime's Suedeberry Velvetine is such a fun orange-y red. I love that it goes on like a gloss and the velvet texture is amazing, like a sheer fabric on your lips. This stuff does not go anywhere, I even have to use a little lotion to remove it at the end of the day. The orange red is a fun take on a classic and is great for summer.

My favorite drugstore lipstick ever! Rimmel London's Kate Moss Lasting Finish in color 01 is a gorgeous, deep red color. The creamy finish is luxurious and moisturizing but it doesn't last as long as the two above.

I wore Ruby Woo in OOTD's here, here, here, and here!
