Gela Asks: Hello there Mr. Kate! I love your blog especially your OOTDs. I am going in a university where there is no uniform and dress code which means I could wear anything I want to. Right now I am still thinking of a way about how I can dress up comfortably yet stylish in school. Any ideas Mr. Kate? I would be forever grateful. Thanks and more power Mr. Kate! xx My Answer: Hi Gela! I always loved the first day of school...for the outfit! I'd plan my first day of school outfit for weeks so I'd be so excited to get dressed that day. I always find I have a better day when I like what I'm wearing and feel like I'm expressing myself. Going to college/university is such an exciting time and even though your schedule might be crazy, I say it's worth it to take an extra couple minutes to pull together your look. These two outfits I styled with heels but could easily be worn with fun sneakers or flats if you need to walk to school, or whatever. My most important rule is to feel free to experiment with your style... it's only clothes but you can discover a lot about yourself through style, so have FUN! PS, do your homework ; )

Outfit #1: I love pants with a fun pattern, they're as comfortable as jeans but bring more life to any outfit. I paired a girly peach tee with lace detail with these funky pants and saved some time (if you're on the run) with a messy bun, accented by a bow barrette, black rimmed glasses and a big white bag for books...or lunch. If you don't want to wear heels to school, wear a look like this with high top sneakers. I also love this look for work if you add a blazer!

Outfit #2 is an easy look that is good for school or work - if you don't want to wear platforms I think a cute pair of flats would be great too! I love this rugged backpack which I got in the men's section at Zara - similar here. The animal print gloves contrast yet compliment the skirt and add a classic look along with the cropped jacket. The loose shirt offsets the cling of the skirt and red lips and Mr. Kate necklaces are allllways a good idea ; )
