i'm back on the workout train this week. i've been so busy lately (working on the interior design TV show), i've only worked out a couple days a week - so i'm trying to get back to my ideal 5 to 6 days! anyways, post workout, i raided the cabinet and drank a protein shake i made using Vegan Proteins+ protein powder (shop it here or find a store here) and it was delish!
there are a ton of different types of protein powder options out there... the most common is whey which comes from cow's milk - which i wouldn't want to use daily. the most common non-dairy option is soy, but some people have an intolerance or allergy to soy, plus when you're veg you eat so much soy in other things. the good news is, there are other non-dairy, plant-based and vegan protein powders that supply all the essential amino acids for your post-workout needs. i really like the Vegan Proteins + because it's made with a blend of non-GMO pea, cranberry, sprouted brown rice, alfalfa and organic hemp proteins - woah! even if you're not vegan, try cycling your protein powders so you change it up for your body!
Vegan Soy and Gluten Free Strawberry Protein Shake
Prep It:

- a couple ice cubes
- 1 scoop of Vegan Proteins+ strawberry or vanilla protein powder (or try other types of protein powder like brown rice, hemp, etc.)
- blend all your ingredients in a blender and serve in a glass with a fresh strawberry garnish.
