styling: bolo ties

Posted by MrKate on

You might already know I like to rock a DIY bow tie, but sometimes I'm feeling the western vibe of the bolo tie! Also known as the "bola tie" and in the UK "bootlace ties", the bolo tie is a fun accessory to layer with other necklaces! You can often find them at flea markets or any western wear stores. These were all given to me by my Grandma who collects Native American jewelry. I like to wear them solo or layered, and try pairing them with outfits that are totally opposite to western wear...like a headpiece, some glamorous glasses or a peplum top!

In this photo I look appropriately bow-legged...like I jawst got off m' horse!

Jewelry is the Mr. Kate Aura headpiece and the Kaila ring and in both outfits I'm wearing two amazing, faux leather pieces from my friend Geri Hirsch's collab with Lovers + Friends x Because I'm Addicted also see the blazer from the collection in this post.
