styling: sweats

Posted by MrKate on

Who doesn't love to wear sweats? I mean, let's be real, they're soooo comfy! Of course sweats are only, usually, acceptable in the confines of your cozy home and most fashion peeps would assassinate you if you took your sweats out on the streets. So in the usual Mr. Kate way, I said "why not!?" and styled these two sweatshirt and sweatpants inspired looks that are totally take-out-able…well, at least I think so!

The trick with styling sweatshirts and sweatpants is to layer and bring in tailored or structured pieces to offset the casual vibe of the sweats. Adding a blazer or lipstick, etc. elevate the look while still keeping it ever-day wearable.

The first look I wore my comfy grey hoodie, that I usually wear for workouts or lounging and styled it with a mini skirt, boots and a pleather jacket (see below). The second outfit I wore these amazingly comfy and slouchy sweatpants and styled them with platforms, a blazer and my Heidi Doody hair do… see all the deets below!

Knee high boots, a bright blue jacket, printed mini skirt and hot pink lips takes this grey hoodie to a new level!

Velvet platforms, a structured blazer and feminine up-do make these sweatpants appropriately funky - I'd wear this outfit to work!
