decorate with: vintage wooden spools

Posted by MrKate on

My friend gave me this bag of vintage wooden spools because she knew it was kind of like, the best gift ever for dumpster-diver-vintage-lover me!

They just don't make stuff as rad as these spools anymore - I know, I sound like I'm 90. For these photos, I styled them as simple tulip holders but I think I may use them for a more permanant purpose in our new house - I'm dreaming up some kind of centerpiece with candles or maybe hang them on the wall to hold hats and scarves? So many options!

Shop for spools like these at your local flea market or antique store or online and keep the flowers fresh by wrapping the cut ends in wet paper towels with foil over which can be hidden inside the spool.
